Classic tech with up-to-date assistants.
Last year I bought this old phone, just for the sheer awesomeness of it. It is a rock solid product made from thick steel and Bakelite (one of the first widely used plastics). These phones are still fully compatible with current phonelines, but since I don’t have a phoneline, it was more visual than functional.
When I later saw this tutorial by Google, I knew I needed to combine it with the phone! What it does is that it enables a Raspberry pi to act as a Google Assistant. With this you are able to ask any possible question just as the personal assistant on your phone.
On the inside I added a Raspberry Pi Zero W, a USB audio dongle and a OLED 0.91inch screen
