From a design challenge
While helping set up Precious Plastic Recycling workspaces around the world I noticed the difficulty in identifying the type of plastic. This posed a serious bottleneck for recycling and got me on the quest to simplify this process.
To open hardware field study
During my master’s thesis, I took 6 months to fully dig into this problem, building solutions the waste collectors would actually use. It resulted in the Open source hardware project, the Plastic Scanner!
